National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

In early 2016, Boyd County 911 was recognized as a participant in the Missing Kids Readiness Project through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The program recognizes preparation to respond appropriately to reports involving missing or endangered children. The center’s announcement at the time highlighted dispatcher training in the NCMEC guidelines and applicable call-handling protocols.
NCMEC provides resources for families, law enforcement, and public-safety agencies responding to missing children and child exploitation.
